This facility has been an exceptional experience and servitude to all wounded soldiers and their families.  Soldiers who come into harms way during their service for our nation; are welcomed by this facility and are given a living experience that otherwise never would have happened.  During my 3 months here in Ft. Sam Houston I was given the opportunity to horseback ride even with my handicap, attend numerous country concerts with one where I met Toby Keith, had weekly free outings to meals, an Octoberfest in San Antonio and free movies.
As for my family by my side while in the hospital.  This facility ensured a timely arrival of my wife, son, parents and closest siblings.  For both the sake of my family and myself having them present during the roughest time of my injuries was instrumental for my speedy recovery. The best thing I could say about this facility and the volunteers who work here is that they are a family away from home.  They are supportive in everyway.  They are willing to help where ever they can and best of all give an ear to just listen so we can know they care.  I give a lot of credit, respect and thanks to the assistance this facility has given to my family, my injured soldiers and myself.
